Boards and CommissionsThe Village’s volunteer boards and commissions are composed of residents appointed by the Village Board who have special expertise and are committed to maintaining the standards of the Village. Many decisions made by Village Government are based upon the recommendations of these boards and commissions.
Adjudication CommissionOversees the local adjudication courts for non-moving traffic violations and for property code violations.
The Beautification CommissionIt is the Mission of the Beautification Commission to promote the beautification of residential and commercial properties within the community and to promote the use and care of trees throughout the Village and maintain our Tree City USA Designation.
The Board of Fire & Police CommissionersTests, appoints, and handles general disciplinary matters, suspends, and dismisses personnel within the Village’s Police and Fire Departments.
The Community Relations CommissionWorks to maintain positive relations among all persons living and working within the Village of Hazel Crest. Also hosts a variety of events and projects, including a Holiday Giving Tree for local children in need.
Economic DevelopmentUnite shareholders within the community for the purpose of creating and supporting jobs, businesses and institutions that positively impact the region.
Health CommissionPromotes health and healthy lifestyles within the community. Educates residents on diabetes, heart disease, stroke prevention, breast and prostate cancer, and other diseases affecting the community.
Open Lands Commission

The Planning & Zoning Commission
Monitors and updates the Comprehensive Development Planning and Zoning ordinances for the Village and conducts public hearings on zoning classifications and variances.
