Notice of Public Hearing
Village of Hazel Crest
Notice of Public Hearing
On January 1, 2020, the State of Illinois, has permitted licensed businesses to sell, grow, and process adult use of recreational cannabis. The Village of Hazel Crest is currently in the process of determining whether to permit these businesses to operate within the Village. To that end, the Village’s Planning & Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 6:30pm at The Village of Hazel Crest Municipal Center, 3601 W. 183rd, Hazel Crest, Illinois, to consider making Text Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed Text Amendments would amend the zoning code for Adult Use Cannabis Dispensing and Transportation Business Establishments as permitted by Illinois Public Act 1-1 0027 (Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act).
Note: Individuals wishing to speak will have no more than three minutes each, on a first come first served basis. The public hearings will be open for comments for 90 minutes or until the last person has spoken, whichever comes first; after which the Commission will deliberate and make its recommendation to The Board of Trustees on this matter. Comments may also be submitted in writing prior to the hearing to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mail should be sent to the Village Hall, 3601 W. 183rd, attention Planning & Zoning Commission. Comments may also be submitted in writing prior to the hearing via email at: events@villageofhazelcrest.com.
